POJOK JUVE : VETERAN

Inilah daftar 10 pemain veteran yang masih bermain bagi klubnya

10. Marco Materazzi
Inter
He may have been relegated to a peripheral role this season, but Materazzi is the ideal example of a late bloomer. The pugnacious centre-back was an unremarkable player until 2005, but then he transformed into a major protagonist with two Scudetti and a World Cup win.

9. Cristiano Doni
Atalanta
Something of an unsung hero, Doni is the king of the provinces and a deity in Bergamo. With Atalanta, the No 72 has scored nearly 100 goals in two spells but has only ever picked up seven Azzurri caps.

8. Marco Di Vaio
Bologna
This season, former Juventus hitman Di Vaio has played out of his skin. If Bologna do survive in Serie A they will owe so much to the 32-year-old marksman and current Capocannoniere.

7. Christian Panucci
Roma
He may be hotheaded, but Panucci is one of those players you’d rather have with you than against you. Having played for Milan, Inter, Real Madrid and Roma, the 35-year-old is a valuable font of experience but still has the gas to play as a wing-back.

6. Pavel Nedved
Juventus
The Czech Fury may be 36 but he still scampers around the pitch as if he were 18. Having finally decided to hang his boots up this summer, Nedved will leave Juventus with a huge void on the left wing.

5. Pippo Inzaghi
Milan
The ultimate poacher, Pippo Inzaghi has mellowed into a lethal super sub. Just when you forget he’s still around, the European goal king will make his presence felt with a timely hat-trick.

4. Javier Zanetti
Inter
The Argentine captain has been the constant during a time of great flux at Inter and has played a crucial part in the Beneamata’s ascent to Serie A supremacy. Versatility, humility and professionalism have allowed Zanetti to make over 450 appearances and become a Nerazzurri hero.

3. Francesco Totti
Roma
Francesco Totti’s Roma legacy is assured. A Giallorosso from birth, Er Pupone has stayed true to his team despite any number of other offers during a scintillating career. His importance to I Lupi in recent seasons cannot be overstated and he will never be forgotten.

2. Alessandro Del Piero
Juventus
Quite simply one of the greatest Italian players of all-time, Del Piero seems to have saved the best for last. Just as journalists started to predict the winding down of his career, Alex reached a new high when Juventus returned to the top-flight after Calciopoli.

1. Paolo Maldini
Milan
A legend of Italian football, a Milan hero and a true gentleman, Maldini will never be forgotten when he retires at the end of the current campaign. It is truly remarkable for any outfield player to remain at the top of the modern game until the age of 40.
